But since you don't know exactly where the axe is yet, you can only narrow it down. You can only make X number of errors or you have to start over solving the murder. I play and replay this an the other game I mentioned and it is a great break from the other types of games. I absolutely love replaying this because even if you do encounter the same board twice, there is very little change you'll remember it! Truly enjoying it. With all the possible combinations of items as well as the ability to select the hardness level, this game is very complex. The larger houses essentially force you to play in full-screen mode, as the various icons for each room get a bit too small when you're playing in a fixed-size window. Much like another game on this site, this puzzle game is just brilliant whatever level you play it at. This is a really challenging and fun game! The more difficult levels give you larger houses and more confusing clues to work with. I only know of one game like this "A Series of Unfortunate Events". So a clue will tell you that the knife is directly above the room that contains the axe. Clues point you to the placement of certain items, but you're pointed in a very indirect way because most clues only tell you about the relationship between two objects. A great exercise for the brain that should appeal to all levels of players. Only problem is I search and search and cannot find anymore of this type game. Hope more like it come along. I wish there were more games like this. Bought this from another site years ago but used one of my free coupons to purchase it again from BFG. I never found another game like that, it's unique, it's addictive can't stop till finished the entire game, and I do it once a month or more since many years!! If you want a simple game, play it without the clock and on easy but if you put the timer on and make the hardest possible then it gets insanely challenging and will lead to hours of fun and hair pulling. The level of difficulty increases within each game in addition to the increasing difficulty levels you can choose each time you play. Thank you!

If you only play the free hour, you will not really get a good feel for how complex this game can be. A great exercise for the brain that should appeal to all levels of players.
