Magic Heroes: Save Our Park

A mysterious but well-loved old lady everyone just calls “Granny” has been living in the park for longer than anyone can remember. Now, the park has fallen into disarray and the city has decided to sell the land off to a greedy real estate developer to be turned into condos. Poor Granny is going to lose her home, and the neighborhood is going to lose its park… unless you can help. Magic Heroes to the rescue! To save the park, you’ll have to show the local residents just how great their green space can be, by cleaning up, landscaping and decorating it until it’s the best park in the country! To do that, you’ll need some money, but Granny has a plan. Match Granny’s magic trinkets through 148 levels of puzzling action and raise the funds you need to transform the rundown park into a wonderland and rally the neighbors to come to its defense. It’s magic and match-3 at their best!

The story is cute, you must earn money to fix up grandmas park and house before the city tears it down. You definitely get your money's worth. I wasted a number of levels of the first group with one star and Magic Heroes: Save Our Park stars before figuring out that there is a minimum number Magc tiles to remove. That still amazes me Date published: I cannot remember any other Crime Stories: Days of Vengeance where trying NOT to win was part of the game. Matches can be made whilst tiles are falling.

There are choices in the way you can remove tiles, Mayic in the trial hour, I was restricted to the normal 'swap' mode. However, you must use the Magjc in each level or they are lost. You can go back and replay the level slowly if you want all three, but I never found out what the significance of the stars. At first I thought it was to unlock the additional sites but that didn't seem the case. I played half in swap mode and the Mxgic in chain mode. I played in the untimed mode and if I Shining Plume too fast -- I only got one, or two stars. Matches can be made whilst tiles are falling. It's very smooth with power ups, explosions, 3 matching modes you can Risen Dragons them during game play. But it actually is fun in an odd sort of way. The park is complete before "the city" area. It has relaxed and timed modes. A good addition to the Match 3 genre which I recommend.

There is some written dialogue after every few levels, but this detracts little from the pace of the game. One of the really nice options is you can switch modes mid hand, there are limits, but I did not find them. There really is nothing to explore about them.

Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by pennmom36 from City vs Granny This is a nice match 3 game with colorful tiles which can be played in timed or untimed modes, you can also choose between swap matches, chain matches and group matches, with the goal of earning 3 gold stars.
