Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover

Eipix Entertainment proudly presents the latest installment of the spine-tingling Phantasmat series! Your return to writing is overshadowed when a madman kidnaps your daughter and her friends! Your only clues are cryptic messages left by the criminal calling you to the desolate Brighthill Beach. With specters around every corner, can your expertise as a horror novelist help you save your daughter before it’s too late? Find out in this chilling hidden-object puzzle adventure game!

The puzzles were obscure in what was required, the HO were OK. It's a good thing considering that the morphs are only in some of the scenes. I've tried to stick by this series because I'm hoping that someday they'll realize that they're doing it wrong, and not just this series either. As the series progresses, Phantasmat games distance themselves further and further away from the creepy and atmospheric original game. Remember how they didn't have much of a storyline but at least the storyline was interesting? It's a fine line between reality and insanity and an even finer line of Ron's deranged revenge plans. Not a fan of Halloween but this is just the right timing to release this game. Phantasmat has returned in all it's phsycho glory!! Starts out with a bang and keeps you on edge waiting for the next move. Ron Parks was an aspiring young writer who waited anxiously for a reply from five of the most famous Horror Novelists even known, after all, he was their biggest fan! The main concept in Death in Hardcover is definitely intriguing, and the rich backstory adds some depth to the storyline. Not going to recommend or not recommend We find prove for the murder of a close friend and realize, we are confronted with a psychopath.

A definite "Collection Edition" buy as I am sure I won't want to miss the Harecover chapter! Ib not asking to revert back to the games of yesteryear, I'm asking them to bring back the magic, I'm asking for games to be better than they were back then. Your a writer of horror and a top seller. I liked the way it ended. I have not finished the game yet but so far I love it. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied and are the typical Eipix style of HOP's, finding 5 of the same objects to receive a tool that will open up the Item List, Silhouetted Shape finds, Multiples of the same object, Sketched Picture finds, Morphing Objects, and Progressive, Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds where you have to interact with the Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover in the scene and find items to help you progress. Some hops had multiple morphs. I'd give anything to be able to write the next script for Phantasmat, my favorite series that's slowly going down the tubes : There are 36 Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover Signs located in each scene and a Morphing Phantasmay: in about half the scenes. A few moments Phwntasmat: completely illogical and the half-baked horror atmosphere does not do the game any good. Not going to recommend or not recommend This is Phantasmzt: a far cry from the excellence of Sparkle 2 first Phantasmat, which won awards for best hidden object game, it hardly deserves the name. The gameplay is good, using some non-traditional items. Could of been hid a little more. Maybe better down the road Daeth you buy the whole version but not temped it. Miss the morphs in every Caves And Castles: Underworld and would like them back.

The puzzles were obscure in what was required, the HO were OK. Call the police or go charging off on your own in a boat left for your use by Then, the next call, an anonymous man informs us, he has kidnapped our daughter and her friends and we should come to the resort. Things take a dark turn when Marcia receives an anonymous call that her daughter has been held captive and that she needs to go to the abandoned town of Rose Bay immediately! As the series progresses, Phantasmat games distance themselves further and further away from the creepy and atmospheric original game. How is not being able to see clearly in a game enjoyable? I liked the way it ended. Much of the time is spent with time consuming puzzles, some of which I did enjoy These puzzles, however, were basically the same ones that they include in all of their games lately, some of which required little thought or skill to solve them and they are easily solvable on the first attempt. Not anymore. I am really surprised by the negative reviews. The story I've tried to stick by this series because I'm hoping that someday they'll realize that they're doing it wrong, and not just this series either.

Found it very easy. It's a good thing considering that the morphs are only in some of the ni. Things take a dark turn when Marcia receives an anonymous call that her daughter has been held captive and that she needs to Dezth to the abandoned town of Rose Bay immediately! I have not finished the game yet but so far I love it. I played the demo and was very excited to play it and ended to be a little disappointed. Good graphics.

No bloody ghosts and corpses' and weird monsters with over the top powers yet. I recommend it. I was able to complete this game in less than 3 hours without skipping any of the puzzles, not to mention stopping to take notes! It's a good thing considering that the morphs are only in some of the scenes. Those scenes were excellent and sometimes challenging with one of them having me a bit confused until I figured it out. It's a fine line between reality and insanity and an even finer line of Ron's deranged revenge plans. It won't end well. It's almost , at a bare minimum, shouldn't the graphics at least be better? After twelve 12 installments of this series I am still a fan of Phantasmat, I just think Eipix needs to explore more unusually creepy story concepts for their next installment. It is one scene after the other one, no much interaction beside the bad guy leaving voice mail or message or appearing with a "scary" laugh. Much of the time is spent with time consuming puzzles, some of which I did enjoy I strongly suggest you do not skip this game, it is one of the best in this series! The adventure part of the mystery is plagued with puzzles which were quite difficult for me and less than enjoyable to play.

  1. The graphics are great, the story line is great, it is creepy I love creepy! Good graphics. I wasted y money Date published: Things take a dark turn when Marcia receives an anonymous call that her daughter has been held captive and that she needs to go to the abandoned town of Rose Bay immediately!

  2. We find prove for the murder of a close friend and realize, we are confronted with a psychopath. The HOS are very poorly done, hard to see Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by rainworm from Finally Phantasmat goes really scary!

  3. The first Phantasmat was by Codeminion and the second was by Ers. I dont recommend Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by mysterylove from Terrible All Around Hidden Object Game Not Enough Help and the game ended without nay idea to what happen to the main characters. In the Collector's Edition version there are 13 Achievements to earn and you can still earn achievements in the BC and in the Re-playable Hidden Object Scenes and puzzles section, a feature that's not always available after completing the main Game. Nonetheless, efforts have been made to add some complexity to the game. It's a good thing considering that the morphs are only in some of the scenes.

  4. The graphics are great, the story line is great, it is creepy I love creepy! If you've played the original Phantasmat and most of the earlier games, you know that the entire time you're playing, you have a nagging feeling that you might actually be dead, and that was so cool! I was able to complete this game in less than 3 hours without skipping any of the puzzles, not to mention stopping to take notes!

  5. Remember how it was nearly impossible to finish a game in one, sometimes two days much less one sitting? This is such a far cry from the excellence of the first Phantasmat, which won awards for best hidden object game, it hardly deserves the name. Step by step we come to know, who this man is. Loved the crisp, clear, clean graphics. I strongly suggest you do not skip this game, it is one of the best in this series!

  6. Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover resumes the psychological thriller trope established by some of the recent Phantasmats, with some assistance from old-school horror elements. I'd give anything to be able to write the next script for Phantasmat, my favorite series that's slowly going down the tubes : There are 36 Ghostly Signs located in each scene and a Morphing Object in about half the scenes. Much of the time is spent with time consuming puzzles, some of which I did enjoy The dramatic and appropriately suspenseful background music drives the sense of urgency in the game, and the voice-overs succeeds in delivering engaging dialogues. This feature is rather worthless in my opinion because you only have to find one item in each scene and it literally takes two seconds to spot the object so why bother?

  7. A few moments are completely illogical and the half-baked horror atmosphere does not do the game any good. This is such a far cry from the excellence of the first Phantasmat, which won awards for best hidden object game, it hardly deserves the name. Rated 5 out of 5 by Innerl from Excellent addition to the series Excellent edition to the series. You will search for the remaining 8 Ghostly Signs and 4 remaining Morphs, after completing the BC you can return to 20 of the scene locations to find a souvenir.

  8. It is one scene after the other one, no much interaction beside the bad guy leaving voice mail or message or appearing with a "scary" laugh. I played the demo and was very excited to play it and ended to be a little disappointed. Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover would certainly benefit from a more atmospheric approach to the visuals.

  9. The dramatic and suspenseful background music drives the sense of urgency in the game, and the voice-overs really succeed in delivering engaging dialogues IMHO. It is one scene after the other one, no much interaction beside the bad guy leaving voice mail or message or appearing with a "scary" laugh. Those scenes were excellent and sometimes challenging with one of them having me a bit confused until I figured it out.

  10. Remember how they didn't have much of a storyline but at least the storyline was interesting? The Bonus Chapter, continues with the story. Not going to recommend or not recommend

  11. Too bad since I am looking to buy anew game and was really hoping it will be it. I completed Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover CE in four and a half hours, bonus chapter included, because even though the game was not perfect, I was captivated by the storyline. A definite "Collection Edition" buy as I am sure I won't want to miss the bonus chapter! Remember how original the tasks and puzzles were? Phantasmat: Death in Hardcover is a psychologically thrilling adventure, even though it leaves rooms for improvement.

  12. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied and are the typical Eipix style of HOP's, finding 5 of the same objects to receive a tool that will open up the Item List, Silhouetted Shape finds, Multiples of the same object, Sketched Picture finds, Morphing Objects, and Progressive, Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds where you have to interact with the objects in the scene and find items to help you progress. I think these devs became so big so quickly that they can no longer see us on the ground waving frantically and they can no longer hear us screaming for something better. I'd give anything to be able to write the next script for Phantasmat, my favorite series that's slowly going down the tubes : There are 36 Ghostly Signs located in each scene and a Morphing Object in about half the scenes.

  13. This game is fairly intense and one that might not be appropriate for all members of the family. The main concept in Death in Hardcover is definitely intriguing, and the rich backstory adds some depth to the storyline. Liked all the Hops and most puzzles. If I read a book like this, I would take it back for a refund. Unless you prefer morphs and collectibles, this Standard Edition version is probably the better option.

  14. I highly recommend this game for its immersive, thrilling plotline, numerous characters encountered along the way, excellent dialogue and overall an impressive experience. As the series progresses, Phantasmat games distance themselves further and further away from the creepy and atmospheric original game. The best kind. This is probably the best game that I have purchased in a while. Also, please don't follow the example of using fertilizer in a bottle to make a smoke bomb, lighting the rag wick and then carrying it around for awhile while you fiddle around with gasoline.
