Dark Realm: Princess of Ice

Mad Head presents the exciting continuation of the Dark Realm story line! This time, a magic bear summons you to help save the neighboring kingdom of Nypha. Find out what has Nypha and its princess trapped in a death grip of cold. As a fire-wielder, you have a few tricks up your sleeve, but the bear's given you some special abilities too! You'll be thrilled by the fun new Match-3 mechanic and enjoy adventurous interactions along the way.

It took about 3 hours to complete but was well worth the time. I am sure I have most of them. The HOPS are varied in nature with some being multi-level. Backtracking exists but is happily kept to a minimum, and the game moves you to new locations often enough that it always keeps your interest. The puzzles also have quite a bit of variety but I have to admit that early on there is one of the type that I dislike where we must avoid obstacles as we speed race along a path. Dark Realm: Princess of Ice had some of the clearest, colorful graphics that I have seen in a while. So all in all It is the usual storyline found in these type of games with a twist. This game had me intrigued from the start.

Payants Dark Realm: Princess of Ice images

The game offers four modes of gameplay with catchy names: Frost, Snowfall, Blizzard, and Custom. I have to go back Lost Secrets: November 1963 look at some of the other games by Mad Hat I may Mad Mouse not purchased yet. Would certainly recommend this one. If they give out awards for sound in games then Princess of Ice would have my vote for best sound package in a game this year. Great production values I especially enjoyed the train interior , wonderful characters and voice acting, mostly interesting puzzles though throwing in a Simon puzzle toward the end was a cheap shot and other surprises. If you select the custom mode you can choose your own settings. It is the usual storyline found in these type of games with a twist. Admittedly, there are times when the game might lean a bit too hard on gimmicks over actual thinky puzzles, such as repeatedly having you time clicks to hit a certain section of a circle to succeed at acts of skill throughout the game, but there's just so much going on it's hard to really mind.

Highly recommended. Loved the light, shadows and 3D effects. Created by the twisted and incredible imagination of Mad Head Games. Such Real:m beautiful game! I almost didn't play it because I'm so tired of icy this, and snowy that, but considering the reviews I decided to demo it, once I started playing the game I had to have it! I am in awe.
