The first 2 games were awesome and offered a little more thinking. I did find this version to be less challenging, but that's a great way to introduce this genre to those leery about its complexity. I love the good people at PixQuake because they really do care about the quality of their games. Gold Hard gives you a second hint refill timer, 1 Life, 3 Shovels and 1 Bomb. They are addictive! I do enjoy griddlers although they can become repetitive which at times this one does, but it also offers mini games which does break thing up just enough to keep ones interest. They fixed the issue with the cumbersome brush cursor from the first game which made it easier to see the numbers that previously blended into the background, but the numbers are still a bit on the small side which may be difficult for some people to see, especially on a smaller monitor. There was a little storyline along with mini games and bonus levels.

  3. I was really nervous starting out, that I would discover I am a big dummy with this kind of puzzle. The easy mode was a good thing and got me off that fence I was sitting on.
