Stranded Dreamscapes: The Doppelganger Collectors Edition

Friendly Cactus Games presents another dream-like journey in the Stranded Dreamscapes series! You're busy preparing the finishing touches on your wedding dress when you're suddenly whisked away to the world inside your grandfather's mirror! What's worse, you've got a mirror doppelganger who's trying to take over your life. Travel through surreal landscapes, conquering each of your deepest fears to restore the portal that will finally take you home. Can you find a way home and stop her, or will you lose your love forever? Find out in this out-of-this-world hidden-object puzzle adventure game!

I was enjoying the demo because I liked what appeared to be a multiple personality disorder story and those creepy little dolls however, I think this will be a better SE purchase. The artwork is juvenile, more like old-time comic books rather than the artwork of a modern-day HOG. It just feels odd to me. If you want to enjoy the classic gameplay with interesting storytelling, interesting and non-hard puzzles, and not so much HOs scenes, you can just buy this game - all is simple. You have to find your way back to the real world and you're assisted in the mirror world by these two very creepy dolls who's voices send chills up and down the spine. Alex was left feeling lonely and insecure. The graphics are a bit grainy but they didn't bother me. Things are looking up for Alex when her boyfriend, Ryan proposed to her. You should have known that something was going to go wrong when you allowed your fiance to see your gown before the ceremony! Probably just because it's not the norm. Much better than I would have expected considering the limitations of the visuals. As you begin playing you start getting items into your inventory. Only joking, but it did make me crave a glass of champagne! Then you have the visuals. This game is a winner for me albeit the graphics could be crisper.

All in all, this isn't that bad of a game, if you're looking for something laid back with an easy flow to it. I love the story line. I really like this game. As you begin playing you start getting items into your inventory. The HOS in the demo were lists with some interaction, also ones with a storyline where you have to find the highlighted word. The story Dreamscaeps: you're Alex, a woman preparing for her wedding when your doppelganger, Xela yes, that's Alex backwardsdrags you into creepy mirror world and takes your place in the real world as the blushing bride to be. The voices used for this game were nice and Colletcors nice and distinct. The artwork is juvenile, the graphics are grainy and Charma: The Land of Enchantment colors are washed-out. My review is based on the demo played in custom mode and I'll say right off Dolphin Dice Slots this is not CE worthy. Years ago her little sister died and her father left soon afterward. No lip movement from the various characters. Game play and inventory quite good. The music is limited and suits gameplay and the voices were pretty good, too. It's quite a clear map and transports you quickly. Sound is pretty good.

But aren't they ALL rather strange?? Date published: Yes the game is nothing new but I do like the storyline and the presentation so Stranded Dreamscapes the Doppelganger will find a home in my gaming library. The artwork is juvenile, more like old-time comic books rather than the artwork of a modern-day HOG. You have to find your way back to the real world and you're assisted in the mirror world by these two very creepy dolls who's voices send chills up and down the spine. During those formative years as a teenager Alex always wished she was someone else, and the tragic loss of her sister only increased her desire for a new persona and an exciting life. Usually, in these HO games, there is story and then you look for items to further the story. Further, the cutscenes are very blurry, as if they were being developed in the early s. On the short side compared to other HOs. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Chickadees3 from Multiple personality or just plain old insane? The gameplay is extremely formulaic, straightforward and easy. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by sleepyfrandma from Nice game for the gamers who love to play and have a rest! I recommend you try the demo and see if you agree. I love the story line. Very compelling for me to move forward to help Alex.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by sleepyfrandma from Nice game for the gamers who love to play and have a rest! No good will come of this. I consider myself to be an intermediate player, even though I've been playing Mahjong World for years, and this game was too easy for me, at least as far as the demo goes. The HOS in the demo were lists with some Sparkle 2, also ones with a storyline where you have to find the highlighted word. They are rather talkative but they do occasionally provide things you need and give you tips. Alex now needs to find her way back home, but can she do it before her past memories in the mirror world get to her? But aren't they ALL rather strange?? Personally, I found that annoying. Sometimes the world and life in general can seem difficult particularly during those years when one forms a self-image. Good stuff: A variety of HOPs, easy mini-games, two little Harlequin dolls as Alex's helpers, a villainess that is the mirrored image Soccer Cup Solitaire our heroine, collectible wine glasses, and all the CE bling and other game elements you would expect.

I was enjoying the demo because I liked what appeared to be a multiple personality disorder story and those creepy little dolls however, I think this will be a better SE purchase. You get two helpers, one is positive and the is other negative. Certainly not suspenseful or charming, or anything else that would have grabbed me. You heard the voiceovers, but the lips did not move. Can you help Alex escape this nightmare and reunite with her love before it is too late? This is how all games are done but, in this game, it seems to be done in a very disconnected manner. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by kdblueey from A rather 'strange' dreamscapes game Try the Demo and see what you think. Bottom line: This is a nice little game I'll keep on my list for the next mega sale when I want just one more item. Her mother coped by working very hard. Interesting HOS: storybook-type HOS that we've seen before, but this seem to take it a step further by adding more pages of a book, thus giving you more of the background of the story. All that changed when she met Ryan.

My review is based on the demo played in custom mode and I'll say right off that this is not CE worthy. In this game it's the other way around. You start getting stuff with no idea of why. Here are the lowlights of the game: 1. The HOPS are fun and the items are clear and fairly easy to find. Alex sees that mirror reflecting strange things that shouldn't be there. You should have known that something was going to go wrong when you allowed your fiance to see your gown before the ceremony! A rather simple game, not much of a challenge. However, I recommend this game, as I oftentimes want just that: Something to play to immerse myself in, to escape reality, if only for awhile : Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Torpedo1 from All In The Mirror This game has a lot going on for it. All in all, this isn't that bad of a game, if you're looking for something laid back with an easy flow to it. Their wedding day is rapidly approaching. All that changed when she met Ryan.

  1. The bonus section is also fairly basic; a bonus chapter, a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, soundtracks, achievements and collectibles. Still, there is the in-game strategy guide that is a nice feature for those who might be new to playing HOPA games and need that extra nudge when stuck. The game has all of the technical features I love — great colorful graphics, voiceovers, good soundtrack, custom setting, and an interactive transporter style map. Still, we were captivated by the doppelganger theme and hints of tragedy Stranded Dreamscapes 2 promises. I collected lots of stuff, usually in groups of four or more.

  2. But if you're looking for something with a challenge, then you might just want to skip this one. Game play and inventory quite good. They are rather talkative but they do occasionally provide things you need and give you tips. You really couldn't miss them. Alex sees that mirror reflecting strange things that shouldn't be there.

  5. Even those gamers who dislike puzzles in HOPA games will find these entertaining. Very compelling for me to move forward to help Alex. I'm certainly glad I didn't pay full price for it, as I would have surely felt gypped. They are rather talkative but they do occasionally provide things you need and give you tips.
