Since then, Sable Maze has had it's ups and downs, but I continue to enjoy this series, and Nightmare Shadows will definitely join my series collection. One note on presentation - It's too bad the developers chose to use the image they did for the cover.

The mini-games are varied with some easier than others. I loved it. There are only two of this type of puzzle after the demo. Especially the one to make the bears fall to the bottom. Probably both are true. Still, the overall experience of Nightmare Shadows is extremely polished and addictingly smooth. I know I sound like a broken record, but I always wait for a good CE sale that make them the same price as a SE version, before buying these games. Good news: The dark artwork is well drawn and the animation is good. I highly recommend the CE for the bonus play. The end cut scene to bonus play Waterscape Solitaire: American Falls WOW! But others are of the type that you could spend an hour or more to solve them. Fighting with the stupid looking shadow monsters was annoying, but at least that wasn't a constant thing. Then I finish playing the Collector's Edition version, unless the game tanks after the demo, leaving me with no desire to play it all the way through. I feel most of them are well-done. Most of the games were excellent and this game continues in that trend, which is a bit unusual since many series seem to decline in storyline appeal after several years. Kudos, dev! The rather quiet soundtracks also work effectively to provide a haunting and mysterious vibe. Whoever was responsible for this amazing scene, hats off! I almost didn't play this game because of it. The characters are very realistic and have fluid movements unlike the ones in Dark Romance that glide or walk with jilted movements The graphics are decent, but tend to be a bit on the dark side. Caught in that maze are places from your memories, Grandma's house, the old farm, high school.

A suspenseful and challenging game, an instant buy for me. It is a fast-paced game chock full of activities. Sometimes the narrative actually named the object; other times, you had to find the object that fit the description, which was more challenging. Did the Nightmare shadows in this game scare you?

  3. It is just so beautiful with sun rays streaming through the forest and fireflies bouncing around. Because so many gamers demand more creativity in the games the developers have branched out but I still love the basics. Sable Maze: Nightmare Shadows does not do anything unexpected with its gameplay. The fear factor in this game is perfectly balanced. The graphics engage you in a mind maze and well depict a nightmare world with the depiction of the scarecrow-esque Shadow Man lurking behind the scenes. I will definitely play this game again and hope Sable Maze developers will keep them coming with this quality.
