The devs create a great sense of being stranded and isolated. Nice game flow, Morphing objects, Not very many HO's though. Some are new, challenging and one was aggro to me. I'm happy to go for the collector edition on half price day - I'm finding morphing objects due to enjoying looking at the scenes but replayability will be a draw for me. There is the usual map, task list and hint button. I collected the hats and nothing happened further. As mentioned there are several degrees of difficulty from normal to custom. I am very glad I did. Well I'm just pausing between the demo and purchasing to throw up a quick review, what a gem of a game! I even played most of the mini games. Recently I dusted off the first few Haunted Hotel games because I love this series and wanted to refresh my memory of it's beginnings.

What I refreshed was the discovery that this series started out horribly! Four game play modes; I chose custom so fast hint and skip buttons. I loved the beta for this game and have been eagerly awaiting its release and now it is finally here! Based on the 90 min demo, the story is Champion Chef, the graphics are Hauntec and sharp, the mini games are fun pretty easy but not child's play. Next steps aren't always obvious, so keep an open mind.

Great game and I only did the demo on both the regular and the Collector's game. Was it the ghost or the butcher returned to seek revenge? There are interesting and varied HOPS, and fairly challenging puzzles as well to keep things Maidens of the Ocean Solitaire. A bit dark, but solid storyline and different mini games. That is why I only gave 4 for Fun Factor. HOPs looked basic, but were actually very nicely done and a good variety of them. Guess you'll have to play to find out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RoyBoy from Unique puzzles and very challenging. The Mini Games are doable, and fairly decent, nothing groundbreaking but they are fun and entertaining such as selecting and placing dominoes on the empty spaces, each domino should only fit when two matching symbols are placed side by side. A bit dark, but solid storyline and different mini games. You're a detective who's had car trouble in the middle of a snow storm and the only revuge is a hotel in the distance. I'm happy to go for the collector edition on half price day - I'm finding morphing objects due to enjoying looking at the scenes but replayability will be a draw for me. It is a dark and snowy night as you are traveling a road in the state of Washington on your way to visit the Axiom Hotel. Ran smoothly on my Mac. This Collector's Edition has 25 Morphing Objects to find and 20 Hidden, but rather large Crystal Balls which contain some rather unusual items within, and also gives brief descriptions in the secret room. All in all this was a very good game. I just did a game that had only HOs, nothing else, ostensibly to relax me, but after the 30th one it made me go "Rawr! Puzzles not too complex, nor repetitive and fairly straightforward. Very Nice. Date published: Just gotta buy it now.

Even though it did have ghosts, the story had me from the very beginning and even though I figured out what was going on and who the culprit was early on, it still kept me wondering until the very end. No spoilers, I don't do that. Recently I dusted off the first few Haunted Hotel games because I love this series and wanted to refresh my memory of it's beginnings.

  1. Loved everything about this game, ticked all the right boxes for me. Real plot for serious gamers. Disclaimer: Haunted House thrillers are one of my favorite genres. Adventure level is very good, and keeps your mind busy, because Elephant always has you hauling things around for two hours before you use it. I won't spoil it here or tell you who the culprit is, but I found myself less and less thrilled with the majority of the cast as the game went on.

  2. Guess you'll have to play to find out. I am so glad the developers have about all added that custom one. There was more back-tracking than I cared for, but it didn't keep me from enjoying the game. The hop's are fun and there is a variety. I will admit that I went into this game knowing what would happen up until a certain point.

  3. Not too many cut scenes, and the ones that did appear were not too long. They're all gathered there for a reason The door soon opens and we understand that the guest is in danger.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by shutterpug from Exceeded all my expectations! It also had morphing objects to find and crystal balls and tarot cards to locate throughout the game. Pull out all the stops as you solve interesting mini-games, search for clues in varied HOPS and hopefully find out whom or what is killing the guests at the Axiom Hotel.

  6. I set it to the quickest for hint and skip so it was just matter of hitting that magic button and off I went to the next part. Didn't need to use map or SG as hint system was excellent. Here is a gritty game with a mature theme and some ghostly scares. I hope the game developers take a close look at this one.

  7. The game is very long and has a map to move between locations - of which there are many! I had a lot of fun playing it. Am buying the Collector's game now because I want to know "Who did it"!

  9. It was a buy for me and I swore off supernatural games, so you know there must be something more to this than that. The door soon opens and we understand that the guest is in danger. You have a diary that lists all the hotel guests who are trapped by the snow storm.

  10. From there, we take our sweet time and don't inform James about it, even when we find evidence that this guest is the next victim. I will admit that I went into this game knowing what would happen up until a certain point. I'm enjoying the spooky stuff and shuddering at glimpsing eyeballs through the keyholes!
