The Beast of Lycan Isle

Luna has been summoned by Tara, her best friend, to an ancient village on a remote island. Tara needs Luna's expertise on a newly unearthed artifact that might prove the existence of the legendary cult of the Madra Alta or Wolf Man. But when she arrives the locals are acting very strangely, her friend has disappeared, and terrible clues reveal a situation beyond her worst nightmare. She must rely on her fearless wit and trusted allies to find her friend. She must dig deep into the instincts and courage of her own inner animal to defeat the Wolf King himself.

Everything about it, from the gorgeous illustrations, to the lore of the mysterious game world, to the highly inventive hidden object gameplay will leave you breathless by the final cinematic, and most certainly howling for more! Sounds are excellent and gives you that somewhat "adventurer" feeling. A lot of effort seems to have gone into developing this game, making it all the more interesting for the player. The game includes several small touches that work wonders. I recommend this game, and the bonus game where you can collect disippated items from the museum which I really enjoyed doing. Everything, from magnificent illustrations to the mysterious world of the game, is very inventive! Dark, spooky atmosphere. Another issue is related to the magazine that the moon holds to record important events. I played the casual mode but I can imagine the expert mode would be quite difficult. I like a challenge, but this game is both not challenging enough and too challenging at the same time. Much better than the "filmstrip-style" story telling of most adventure-hidden object games. This is definitely one of my favorites now.

If you love games that are different, with HOS that have a purpose rather than just be irritating stumbling blocks on your quest to find a tool, great graphics and super puzzles, look no further! So for that reason it got a three from me. I actually liked the backstory and the game play and even most of the puzzles until a couple at the end. Oh, and did I mention that the giant werewolf goes hot in your wake for most of this time? But the more I played it, the more I liked it. That would be my only complaint. No random objects in a dark room that made no sense. The hints were vague, but not so much that it drove you insane. To play in in expert mode you would be clicking on everything in every scene and that is not my cup of tea. Some of those were tricky to find. The characters, particularly the old lady, are interesting. Well done, good re-play and okay for older kids but the storyline about a werewolf may not be appropiate for younger children. I like a challenge, but this game is both not challenging enough and too challenging at the same time. Thrilling story The Bad No fast travel system between locations. I loved looking for clues to my friend Tara and working out how to best use the map and the hints which are kind of riddles rather than concrete indicators - great! There is quite a bit of tramping around but the terrein is easy to remember. The bonus material allows you to go back in time and change history for the better. The presence of a strategy guide is always welcome although I think I could get through it without next time round. There is a constant sense of urgency in the game, like a race to stop the evil sectarians and their ritual before it is too late. The story was really interesting and kept me playing till I finished. I ended up feeling sorry for him but glad I didn't meet him face to face!! Graphics were great, storyline interesting. The shapes of them are given to you.

Date published: Best I did want to play it through; it wasn't at all boring, just a little too straightforward. Incredible puzzle-infused hidden object segments. And, yes,? There are some dark scenes but the items needed are not frustrating difficult to find. The goal of The Beast of Lycan Isle game is to cure the vampiric beast who was sadly transformed. Overall this was a fun, interesting game. The character animations are wonderful. Players will actually find themselves speeding through the game: breathlessly solving puzzles, frantically clicking Lyca locations, and always moving one step closer to saving their friend. The shapes of them are given to you. I gotta say, the end was a crash and burn. I am getting Seven Seas Solitaire of hidden object only and like Danse Macabre: Crimson Cabaret Collectors Edition adventure, puzzle solving as a good change of pace. This is my favorite type of HOG. I warmly recommend this game and hope there are more coming.

The mini games are fun and the map is very helpful at times. This is one of the few games were I didn't want to slap my character for being so dumb. They run from fairly easy to moderately difficult with a bit of patience being required for some of the more difficult ones. No arrows, no "hands", no nothing. More puzzles than hidden object find which was nice for me. I only wrote the review after the second time playing it. So for that reason it got a three from me. The navigation wasn't as obvious as in other games and the hidden object scenes were different. The hint button is truly helpful and recharges reasonable fast.

  3. Regardless, I still enjoyed the experience. No challenge at all, so I changed over to expert mode and did not get any promps on things to pick up or places in the rooms to visit. All in all, it was fun and I am glad I took the time to check it out. Graphics were great, storyline interesting. There was a beautiful mix of HO's and other puzzles maybe about half HO , and the HO's were actually functional for the story. Also, It was refreshing to not have to run back and forth just to find one item, or to hold various items throughout most of the game for no particular reason. I thought they would never finally release it.

I loved the bonus content, even unusual things such as the extras deleted scenes, artwork etc being an integral part of the game rather than a credits or menu item. Well done, good re-play and okay for older kids but the storyline about a werewolf may not be appropiate for younger children. I like a challenge, but this game is both not challenging enough and too challenging at the same time.
