Shrouded Tales: Revenge of Shadows

From Friendly Cactus, makers of the Stranded Dreamscape series, comes a magical new chapter in the Shrouded Tales series! When a garbled distress call comes in from a neighboring city, you are chosen to investigate the source of the trouble. Armed with a magical amulet that can cast a variety of spells, you head through the portal to find out what has happened in Volarden. But as you begin to investigate, you quickly learn that things may not be what they seem. Watch your back – evil is taking shape around every corner in this exciting Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game!

Even though the use of an amulet is a repeated theme from similar adventures, this epic game is truly an atmospheric experience I enjoyed from the commencement to the galvanic conclusion. But then, I thought of something. Rated 5 out of 5 by kateblue from Important Hint. Your mother, a member of the Order as well, has given you a powerful Amulet that stores collected spells during your quest. As the Shadow's fall, we light the fire. Once you arrive in Volarden, you will find the Scroll of Secrets, which reveals 30 hidden rune symbols within each scene, and also tells you a little tidbit of information about the city. There are FROG's which is several fragmented object pieces to find, and interactive list finds as well. Now she has been asked by the Order of Barons to help the neighboring city of Volarden who has fallen victim to the Shadows, the same evil that imprisoned Havenwick. I played the demo in "casual" mode so I can tell you the hints refill quickly. Hello friends! Each component to brew a good game was in the caldron! You arrive in a seemingly deserted part of town and almost immediately break your magic amulet.. Very good length, even in the bonus round, good image quality, good story, full of things to do and see, fun mini-games, and pretty varied HOP. Trying to figure out how to repair fantasy technology was frustrating and

Much better than the average HOS. The same game is repeated each time, but it gets more complicated as you progress. There are several red masks that must be turned yellow using 2 or three copper symbols with specific directional arrows, to cover all of the masks in each direction. I wrote a CE review and bought the CE. I will get the CE for this game because there is a bonus and also the ability to replay mini games and HOS. Fun twist on collectables Some different twists, on games, doesn't hold your hand, had to use the guide to continue, very rare for me! Then, dad guess it was dad left using the portal, but after that, apparently it turns out the portal malfunctioned. Some required some thought but I never had to use the strategy guide to complete them. Had a few hiccups with the bonus game, but got there in the end. And it seems that you have to carefully replace the item back in the inventory area or it is stuck to your cursor. Rated 5 out of 5 by kateblue from Important Hint. The city also has a portal that when activated, allows you to walk between the real world and a parallel universe which is basically the same place, only darker. The variety of activities make it an interesting game. The Amulet gets stronger with each spell cast, Restora repairs broken objects, Combusta creates a small flame, Germina makes plants grow and Electra charges objects with electricity!

Frustrated when the cursor cannot be changed to "system" type; the lag of the game cursor is very annoying. The same game is repeated each time, but get more complicated as you progress. Had a few hiccups with the bonus game, but got there in the end. It's a fun game. Bad Stuff: Did I mention the back and forth? Some of the scenes are repeated in the same exact area which is my only complaint, it's way too easy and boring a second time around, even when it's a different type of HOP. Some require you to use inventory items to solve them. Try right clicking! The Amulet gets stronger with each spell cast, Restora repairs broken objects, Combusta creates a small flame, Germina makes plants grow and Electra charges objects with electricity! What a disappointment. I will recommend this game for beginners, or for someone who just wants to play a no brainer game, which I sometimes do, but not for the more. The Hidden Object Scenes have several types available, with a unique feature that requires you to use some of the inventory items you have collected within the scene by switching between the inventory tab and the objects tab. I think the puzzles are great and HOS are different, so I really think that paying extra for the ability to play them over is a good value. The graphics are cartoon-like; the story is engaging ; the game is well-paced with many activities.

Whether you ignore the graphic effects or your whole existence is devoted to design and graphics of Hidden Object, Adventure computer games, you can't stay indifferent to the tremendous videosequence of Shrouded Tales 2: Revenge of Shadows.

  2. There are several red masks that must be turned yellow using 2 or three copper symbols with specific directional arrows, to cover all of the masks in each direction. This started out as a good idea but, again, after the demo, it seemed we had to do it in practically every scene. There is a jump-map, which is absolutely necessary for all except the hard-core players. I highly recommend both!!!

  3. Please try this demo for yourself. Each component to brew a good game was in the caldron! There are several red masks that must be turned yellow using 2 or three copper symbols with specific directional arrows, to cover all of the masks in each direction. The game is entertaining, and there are enough useful features for me to buy the CE.

  5. Thanks for the reviews. So rescuers are sent to nearby towns to search for the emergency. The mini-games were mainly run of the mill, nothing really new or inventive. Play the demo and see if you agree.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by doorgirl from The Story Continues First off: I bought the game without trying because I really enjoy the games from Friendly Cactus. Play the demo and see if you agree. 7. Other puzzles requires you to use magnets to either repel or attract gems into their correct slots, another requires you to drag red stars with lines connecting each red star across every blue star to light them all up. The Shadows have struck again, using the Volarden's own defense shields against them, pitting good brother against evil brother! Trying to figure out how to repair fantasy technology was frustrating and I am enjoying the interaction of amulet powers with inventory and objects.

  8. That shows you, though, that it was an interesting puzzle. This game does neither. At this point, I decided not to even try to make sense of the story, and it went better after that. It's the key to this game.

Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by pennmom36 from Brother Against Brother The Order of the Barons have received a garbled message from Volarden, a neighboring city, pleading for the Order's help. This game does neither. You go back and forth between the city and the alternate world of Shadows! The game is entertaining, and there are enough useful features for me to buy the CE. So rescuers are sent to nearby towns to search for the emergency.
