Nevertales: The Abomination

In the CE version, each of the 18 main HOP's has a Morphing Object to find and they are quite challenging to spot because they blend well and morph slowly. Some of the scene locations were excellent, such as finding items sketched into a grey-bricked wall, finding intricate shapes sketched on 3 different pieces of paper or items stuffed between branches in a beaver dam. You alone may keep the spark alive. Nevertales The Abomination is a creative game and, at least for me, this one is far better than the last several in a series that had lost its direction and flair. I liked the fact that most of the time I was able to use the items in the inventory fairly quickly. My biggest issue with the HOPS is that again a developer is making the items we need to find almost invisible. I really, really disliked this game! Saving a world is bad enough. As we travel to the four realms we are treated to the beauty that was created by the Author and wonder how he would think of destroying it all. When Michael Ballard's personal life begins to crumble, evil begins to take root within the realms as well.

The Abomination is the tale of a creator who has basically lost his muse and his direction. There are 22 mini-games within the Main Game and I'm a little disappointed that none are offered for re-play within the CE version's Extra's menu because I really liked some of the more difficult ones. Yes, there is a gimmicky Gadget of Spell-Casting, however, it does NOT involve following recipes other than finding specific ingredients for each spell the first time only to "learn" the spell and it does NOT involve any repetitive Mini-Game prior to using a spell, so I'm totally okay with this scenario! The tasks were not silly but quite intelligently thought-out. I've tried playing this game over and over for at least 2 weeks and every time I do I leave the game angry and frustrated. As usual we find all of the bells and whistles that come with a CE game and particularly the in-game Strategy Guide that did provide some helpful information when I was stuck. However, I enjoyed this game immensely and commend these developers for a job well-done. I really, really disliked this game! The storyline was very intriguing. The scenes are colorful and the graphics are crystal clear, even the objects themselves are recognizable and some items were well blended and not easily spotted.

It has been three years since the release of the last game in the Nevertales series and I think this one was worth waiting for. Because you aren't playing as an Adept, you won't use any Spells within the BC. Can you save four? I purchased this game and I'm extremely sorry I did. My only suggestion is, and not just with this developer but with others as well, when there are underwater scenes, I prefer completing all the tasks required without getting in and out of the water a dozen times.

Otherwise, games appear mundane when they're actually innovative and top quality. The voice overs were Cake Shop well done. The Loves Triumph are colorful Paris Mahjong the graphics Nevertales: The Abomination crystal clear, even the objects themselves are recognizable and Worlds Greatest Cities Mahjong items were well blended and not easily spotted. The first Nevertales game is one of the best games ever made, that being said this game is not even on the same level as that game! The tasks were not silly but quite intelligently thought-out. I found the puzzles to be mostly a bit easy but some were tricky to figure out.

  3. I liked the fact that most of the time I was able to use the items in the inventory fairly quickly. Great artwork and computer graphics. I purchased this game and I'm extremely sorry I did. My only suggestion is, and not just with this developer but with others as well, when there are underwater scenes, I prefer completing all the tasks required without getting in and out of the water a dozen times. The story line has a few twists which kept the flow of the story interesting.

The tasks were not silly but quite intelligently thought-out. This was very apparent with the first HOP when not only were the items almost transparent they were often very small.

  6. I don't see the logic in it. The mini games were challenging and new. I've now just finally decided to save myself any further aggravation and I deleted the game from my computer, half finished! The Abomination is the tale of a creator who has basically lost his muse and his direction.

This was very apparent with the first HOP when not only were the items almost transparent they were often very small. Very much enjoy the Never Tales sequences.

There were a couple of items that lingered now and then but all for a good reason. Will the creator be able to rise and save the world of Ballard and its four realms or will he eventually destroy all that he had created? I've now just finally decided to save myself any further aggravation and I deleted the game from my computer, half finished!
