I wish there were more games that can copy this chilling formula!!!! I am normally totally unphased by the allegedly scary games but this one made me jump several times.. Excellent graphics, good music, the mini games are easy which makes the story hang together. The story was decent. Haknted one thing, something was wrong in the special room. I just finished playing for Daily Mah Jong third Haunted Hotel: The X, thus my review title! This is all your casual Horror Games blended into One, the only thing I would have added would have been the Voice Actor from Hotsl: Grey Syndrome and so many other games when they were still good. This game is by far superior in every way to R. None of them are needed for game play. The X has none of this fluff and is positively uncompromising in its mission to chill you to the bone and make you bleed from things you didn't know you could bleed from!! This game is a must for all the HOG addicts such as myself. The sheer amount of "busy work" was just exhausting. I did. I am all about the spooky,make you jump games and this one is fantastic!!! If you are looking for a slightly more adult-themed game; with real scares, blood and even disturbing images — then this The Jolly Gangs Misadventures in Africa is for you! Nevertheless this is what you have been waiting for I did. Of course, the rescuing-the-sister-from-some-haunted-place thing is not really interesting, but Hotfl: added all the suspenses together with the creepy backstory of the hotel — The X is hard to put down. The story was decent. We finished the main game in about three and a half hours and the bonus chapter in 45 minutes.

The X is one of the stronger Haunted Hotel games, and it is definitely the series' scariest one yet. The bonus game, however, had a horrible voice actor and the "secret room" you unlock for completing it was buggy.

I am buying it right now since I cannot wait to continue! The CC edition is worth the extra money as this also very long for a bonus chapter. So couldn't finish it. The puzzles come in a range of difficulties; many are simple and easy, while some are imaginative and require a bit more planning. If you are looking for a slightly more adult-themed game; with real scares, blood and even disturbing images — then this game is for you! Really atmospheric, fun mini games and engaging game play.   1. The "creepy effects", however, began to get tiring as you can't actually do anything until they are over. Nevertheless this is what you have been waiting for If the supernatural doesn't put you off you will likely enjoy this latest offering from Elephant Games. As with a few other Rare Gems this offering is something you would expect to find on Frictional Games and fortunately the thrills and scares last throughout to the end, not just the first few screens that we have come to expect these days.

  2. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and that plays out in the well defined storyline. Nonetheless, each Haunted Hotel game continues to impress us and this one is no exception. Only one thing, something was wrong in the special room. On the downside, it feels a little short.
