Before each use of the device, there is a mini game of finding symbols to translate. A couple of the mini-games were a little tough, but with the CE's Strategy Guide, I was able to manage without skipping. Other than the above mentioned complaints I did very much enjoy this Enchanted Kingdom : I personally like fantasy games for the bright colors, storyline, music and interaction with fairy-tale beings. Not because they were to small but because they were cleverly hidden and many required interactions with other items to find.

I do enjoy good puzzles in a game particularly when they are not all crowded into each scene but these did seem quite easy. There were some Heartwild Solitaire scenes but not as many in the other games. Animals need my help -check. I am an avowed HOS fan but not so much of the Campgrounds III Collectors Edition. This latest game in the Enchanted Kingdom series is one of the best yet. Same old plot of rescuing the world from a villain but the sympathetic creatures, teamwork and locations made the difference to me. The puzzles were almost always easy, even when I chose the hard setting. Despite its rather dull storyline, Enchanted Kingdom: Arcadian Backwood benefits from rich, imaginative world-building.
