These had a good challenge to them and took a while to do. I loved roaming around having a look. The bonus game was frosting on the cake. Very nice balance of things to do!! This developer knows how to craft a great game, and I really hope they keep it going! I'm so glad I got to play the bonus round as that handsome young man! Sound is good and the music is the same as the last two games which is fast orchestral. Ironically, this game worked for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! I also really love that you actually earn additional puzzles if you find all the objects so it's a real reward. Find one item to use to find another, etc. Highly recommend you buy this game. I enjoyed it and think it is well worth playing. I love all of the series of New York Mysteries for several reasons: Great stories that hold together; puzzles and ihops that work well within the stories; cut scenes and cinematics that are NOT irritating and are actually enjoyable to watch; interesting dialog and voice-overs from the characters; very nice graphics; and a great interactive map that shows you exactly where you need to go for tasks to complete. One of the things I look for in a game is length of play and this series I own two now has yet to disappoint. None of these are too hard or boring to do and I was able to get back to the game fairly fast - just as well, its a big game. The flow was much better in this game compared to the others. The brutal murder of a rich lawyer's widow is not what it seems. These had a good challenge to them and took a while to do. The results of the search are quite surprising and danger is awaiting for the journalist at her every step. This developer knows how to craft a great game, and I really hope they keep it going! Highly recommend. An Adventure Game that's high on the fun and intrigue factor and low on the bugs, ghouls and death. All and all I truly had a lot of fun playing this game! Length was just right too not to long but not extra short like many of the games that have come out recently have been. In the main game you play Laura James and in the Bonus you play Will. There is no deviation from this. The map feature is nice and allows you to see locations with more tasks and transports you instantaneously. But it is what it is!

  1. There is no deviation from this. Well, to be fair there are some zombies, but they're well in the background and not so in your face as I find in other games. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by sapphireblue11 from Loved this Game!

  2. The graphics were wonderful as usual. The same goes with the morphing objects as well - yep the 'hand'. I was astonished at how many locations are presented, the quality of the graphics and the sheer escape factor. These are easy to find because a 'hand' comes over them, so no chance of missing any. And speaking of collectibles, there are quite a few: 9 apples; 9 shields; 9 treble clefs; 8 statuettes; 16 collectible cards and 35 morphing objects.

  3. So much fun to play! The brutal murder of a rich lawyer's widow is not what it seems. New York Mysteries: The Lantern of Souls is an adventurous hidden object game with puzzles and mini-games.
